Tutu Time with Maja

Enjoy the sweet sound of giggly little girls and ignore the sound of big brother crying. Don't worry if you listen really carefully you can hear Dad taking care of him.

For some reason a ton of tutus came our way in the form of hand-me-downs and birthday presents

We had a fun party for the twins at the park and once I get the pictures I will post them.

Now it was time for our little family party.

All the Halloween junk is still all over the living room

Jed and I decided that now that the twins turned 4 they were old enough to get an allowance like their big brother and sister.

So they each got a wallet!

They were quite happy about it.

This was something they had been looking forward to for a little over a month!

And a Hug from Astrid I think Anna opened Astrid's present to her and this is actually Anna giving Astrid a thank you hug. Heh!

Bull Creek First stop

Many years ago when my family lived in north Austin My mom would often retreat to Bull Creek for a little while during the day. 

This was the first time i have been back and that is just plain silly since this is just down the street from Ben and Dana 

It is a beautiful and very popular place for dog walkers, get-in-shapers and people like us just out for a lovely stroll 

I really need to take the family back there again 

It has shallow waters that rushes over and through the cracks and groves it has carved out in the limestone over the years. 

I love the sound of the water 

I think people like to get in the water when it gets a little hotter out side 

Is it not just lovely? 

Of course we did not end up staying on this part of the creek very long because, of course, one of my munchkins was about to pee her pants. 

The Inheritance

Another of the treasures I discovered at our ladies movie night group. We've had so much fun enjoying these stories together and of course eating lots of yummy snacks and chatting each others ears off.

North and South

And now allow me to present North and south!

This is not the North and South about the American civil war but about northern and southern England.

We've been watching it at our girls nights and it is just fantastic!

if you can get over the fact that it is in small bits and that it has to stop and load this is great quality!

it takes the story a little while to get interesting so just give it a chance and I'm sure that by the time you get to the end you will be very glad you did!

So now that you have watched this whole wonderful thing you might wish to read the book! I sure do!

Sooooo so scary?

Here we have a bunch of snapshots from our front yard.

We had allot of fun pulling the web back and forth untill it looked just right 

And even though we did not catch any giant flies (in the net -we did get a horse fly in MY BATHROOM AHHHHHHHH!)  we did catch a lot of leaves as they turned brown and dropped of the trees! 

And there you have it.

I loved going out the front door. It was just fun. 

The Making of Invitations

 

Look at all this great stuff I got for free in the mail!

Photo safe adhesives from Elmer's and sharp cutting edges from x-acto.

I just love new toys! This time I shared my great new stuff with the twins because it was time for them to make their birthday invitations.

First they got armed with fancy edging scissors.

I was quite pleased by how smoothly they cut. The fact that my 3 year old twins could use them with out any problems tells me that these are pretty nice. 

After they had cut out the front and their personalised side of the invitation it was time to try the corner punch. It was way to difficult for them to use so they quickly decided that it was not worth their time. I could use it just fine. If I ever do a project with a corner punch I'm sure this one will be sufficient. I do not normally use the ones I already have all that much. 

The next step was gluing. Anna got to use the glue dots and she loved them! I thought they were pretty nice as well. They did tend to stick to your finders so if you use them for a project that can not be dent at all you have to be very careful when putting them on. 

Astrid tried to use the tape runner but it was a bit to highteck for her. I really like it though so I'll be making good use of it later. 

Then she got to use the glue stick. It consistently went on smooth and did not gunk up to much on the paper especially considering who was using it. 

Anna quickly ran out of glue dots so she got to use the glue pen.

It was easy for her to squeeze out the glue and still have something that resembles volume control.  This is a big plus in my book. It did not taker her that long to figure out how to use the special tip to paint the wet glue around on the paper. 

The girls had a lot of fun making the invitations and did not burn out. They kept telling me that they were enjoying it.  

And the final result! They look very pleased with their efforts I think! 

I really enjoyed doing their invitations with them. I'm looking forward to all the many projects we have coming up in the next many years..

Party Party all day long!

First we went to the neighborhood pool, then.......

Party number 1 

One of the boys from Ian's class was having a birthday party and his sweet mom let me bring all 4 kids. 

Here is Ian and his friend the birthday boy Jamar.

They were not all that interested in posing for pictures right then, Heh. 

And Astrid zooming down the inflatable fun they rented for the afternoon. 

So much fun! 

The kids were all wearing swimsuits because we came from the pool, and because they needed them again later.

Lots and lots of fun. I made Astrid take of her glasses so they would not get destroyed.

Party number 2 

I had managed to bum a ride for the twins to a different birthday party (thanks again Janelle) because it started in the middle of Ian's party. When Ian's party was over we drove over to brushy creek to pick up the twins from Avery's birthday celebration and caught the tail end of it. 

Lost little one? you do look very clueless darling.

After the party was over .......

we played in the sprinklers at the park. See? we did need those swimsuits! 

It's a long drive to the sprinkler park and I wanted to make sure we got to do it at least once this year. 

It's such a fun place. Anna and Astrid had already played here for the party but who would not want to go back?
