We really tried to have a good time...

And we nearly managed it!

The kids loved all the bugs. Especially the Roly polys.

You would not know it by looking

But it was so miserably hot and muggy and damp and just not nice.

We spend a lot of time sitting in these chairs

Because moving around would make us very dusty and dirty

Jed and I tried really hard to have a pleasant time so that the kids would enjoy them selves.

I just love this picture of Ivy.

For the first time in years we did not have a burn ban while camping and we had a fire going nearly all the time. We had smores and cooked all the food over the coals. We even made peach cobbler. It was really good.

And I'm such a silly fan girl when it comes to my handsome husband. I just could not pick my favorite picture of him. So there is two.

He was still just recovering from surgery and the drops makes his vision temporary super blurry.

I love that this is just a plain cute picture of Ivy with out all the fakeness.

Then my sweaty fat "chilling" -hard to do when it is to hot to move- and hoping for a breeze.

Hair!

I stink at hair! Having so many friends with little girls with cute hairdos have helped me figure out some simple things that I can do. Sadly this is about as fancy as it get around here. I have an especially difficult time with Astrid's hair. her head is shaped differently than the other girls and what looks cute on them is vastly different once repeated on her head. Her hair is different as well. It curls quite a bit in the back and is straight in the front.

I've had this blog recommended. I will have to take baby steps though. 

The truth comes out at last!

I just had a birthday and I feel old. But surprisingly good about it. So now seems to be a great time to share this lovely school work assignment Ivy borough home some time ago.

I do love being her Mommy.

Constant change

Every time I think I have figured out blogger they change something. Right now I'm getting a message that my back ground will soon disappear. So I was trying to find a different one that I like and now the blog is acting up, gaaarrrr!

Thanks to Anna insisting on using the camera, we have a very well documented waiting room experience to share with you now.

While Jed had his surgery on his eyes, the twins and I got to hang out in the waiting area.

After employing various techniques to entertain and distract the girls...

Somehow or another Anna found that it was time for her to take pictures.

She had a blast.

And I have to admit that I really like some of these pictures.

We goofed around as quietly as we could get away with.

Since the surgery was very pricey we did not feel bad about eating as many of their cookies as we could fit in our faces.

The cookies was definitely part of what made this a good waiting room.

I'm not sure how many of these Astrid and Anna ate but it was a lot!

Unfortunately there was only coffee and no hot chocolate.

The receptionist was nice enough, once it occurred to her, to change the channel to a kids network.

Once that happened, Astrid was happily sucked in.

They also had a plentiful supply of juice.

The wait was just long enough for Astrid to eat herself quite full of purely cookies!

I'm quite amazed by the many pictures of the inside my nose.

I think it is so cute how their little feet dangle over the edge of their seats.

No dangling going on here.

One of the interesting parts about Anna's pictures is that you end up with shots like this one!

I might never have had a picture of "the black hole" if she had not taken it, and I really like it because it very much documents a everyday part of my existence.

Yet another free drink.
